Australian Red Wine
Australia is a major country involved in the wine industry today; it is the fourth largest exporter of wine around the world, selling about 760 million litres a year to foreign countries. Australian Wine accounts for a significant part of Australia’s economy. Selling mainly to south Asia and India, the Australians do also sell to their own domestic market, consuming approximately 500 million litres per year. Wine is produced in every state, while vineyards are mainly situated in New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia and South Australia.
Australian red wines include ‘Shiraz’, ‘Cabernet Sauvingnon’, ‘Merlot’, ‘Pinot Noir’ to name a few and Australian White Wine variants include ‘Chardonnay’, ‘Semillon’, ‘Sauvignon Blanc’, and many more.
Australian wine producers are noted and regarded as one of the biggest influence on wine today.
