A Roof Truss is a combination of triangular constructed together with straight members at joints.
There are two basic types of truss which include the pitched truss also referred to as the common truss, which is characterised by its triangular shape and is commonly used in construction and the parallel chord truss or flat truss which has a parallel top and bottom chords. This is often used for floor construction. If you combine these two trusses it is known as a truncated truss which is used in hip roof construction.
